After dramatically improving their own health and realising there was a gap in the market for a “cool” health retailer, Sydney mates (Caleb and Blake) decided to go into business together in mid 2014. Tropeaka officially launched in February 2016 from the founders’ kitchen table when they were both just 24. Tropeaka products are now stocked in more than 50 countries and they’re recording amazing growth year over year.
A study from 2012 found that 92% of consumers trust recommendations from their peers and 70% of consumers trust recommendations from someone they don’t even know. Knowing that trust can be the biggest obstacle to a customer making a purchase (e.g. “will this product really achieve what it promises?”) we were confident that Tropeaka’s amazing customer reviews should be highlighted heavily in this flow.
As part of our strategy to recover more abandoned carts for Tropeaka we decided to use Okendo’s integration with Klaviyo to showcase the aggregate star rating and review count for the products in the customer’s cart. Okendo’s Review Sync feature allows us to highlight the popularity of the specific product that the customer is interested in. This is particularly powerful for products with a high star rating (e.g. 4.5+ stars).
Using dynamic product blocks that we set up in Klaviyo, we set the emails to automatically pull in the product the customer abandoned while highlighting the Okendo review rating as well.
