Last night the Sign-Up.to team attended the Lord Mayor’s Business Forum event at River Park Place, Morningside. These regular forums give local business owners an opportunity to learn from some of Brisbane’s most successful entrepreneurs, consult with council experts on everything from tendering to marketing, and even ask the Lord Mayor himself a question or two.
But this month’s event was a little different to normal. As part of the Council’s new Digital Brisbane initiative, attendees had the ability to register for ongoing updates, industry news and digital advice, simply by texting their email address to the mobile number provided.
Those who subscribed instantly received a text message confirming their subscription, as well as a mobile-responsive email welcoming them to the Digital Brisbane community.
This opt-in process was created using the Sign-Up.to digital marketing platform, and can be easily replicated by small business owners wishing to build their own subscriber databases. Subscribers are automatically added to the appropriate contact list for future communications, meaning no manual data entry is required.
The process uses a combination of SMS Manager, Marketing Automation and Campaign Designer – all features that are included with a basic Sign-Up.to account.
