Focusing on advanced tactics and strategies for established online businesses, our goal was to meet once every two months to share advanced, practical tactics and advice for established ecommerce brands. Tuesday night, we held the first meeting as proof of concept – and (if we do say so ourselves) it was a huge success.
Simon Byrne, our very own Head of Client Strategy, started us off with a characteristically illuminating talk on revenue-boosting marketing automation strategies. In particular, salvaging sales from customers who have added products to their shopping cart, then left without completing the purchase.
These ‘Abandoned Carts’ are the bane of ecommerce merchants around the world – but Simon showed us a few clever email automation tactics that can turn these ‘lost’ customers around.
Next up, we heard from Chris Cole of Moto Loot. Chris sells Motorbike accessories online, and found most success using Facebook advertising tools. In an incredibly open and revealing presentation, Chris ran us through his own Facebook Advertising account, and showed us live examples of the performance of some of his current campaigns. Thanks, Chris!
Lastly our mystery speaker – Shopify Plus’ Tristan King – gave us some incredible insights straight from the horse’s mouth on ways to maximise your ecommerce website’s user experience for maximum conversion. Gaining a visitor’s trust, he explained, can be a challenge. But it’s a challenge that can be solved with the right design.
All in all, the event was a great night! We’d like to thank everyone who attended for coming along, and we can’t wait to see you all again for the next event!
